API and System Integration

What is an API?

An API or “Application Programming Interface” is the way different applications talk to each other. Effectively an agreement that allows the 2 applications to share data, normally across the internet.

Reading APIs

To access other people’s APIs your application or website will need access (e.g. an account), make the appropriate requests and read/process the responses.

Your Own API

The flip side of the coin is to provide an API so that other applications can access your data. This needs the appropriate security and coding to ensure the right people get access to the data you want them to, and no more.

Leverage Existing Systems

System Integration is the process of bringing together disparate systems into one shared system or combining data from multiple systems into one.

We Can Help

Creating APIs

We have created a number of APIs for clients and our own solutions allowing 3rd party systems to securely access tightly controlled data views.

Integrating with Others

Many years of experience of integrating with other systems.. sharing data, accessing APIs and processing data into client systems.

Troubleshooting and Optimisation

Indentifying and resolving performance issues and blocks. Rewriting slow performing SQL and optimising indexes.

Ongoing monitoring and support to prevent future issues.

Our Customers Include:

Keep Talking

Documents in one system and customer information in another? Our solutions allow different systems to talk to each other.

Robust/Tested Code

7 years in the making our database platform hsa undergone 100s of hours of testing and has reached a high level of maturity.

Flexible and Configurable

You can add columns, add tables, change validation, messages and much more… by yourself at NO COST!

Databases Are Kept In Sync

As businesses grow it may result in duplicate and disparate data. Our synchronisation mechanisms ensure databases stay in sync.

Our sophisticated security system ensures that only the right people access the data they are allowed to.

Consolidated Database

Multiple databases and software systems? We have the resources and skills to bring them together.

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer a number of options to cover everything from one-off jobs through to long term support contracts. We can either work by the hour or by fixed price for project work. Prices vary depending on how big the job is and whether it is onsite or we can work from our office.

Please contact us us for more details.

For new databases we normally give you a fixed price quote for producing a functional specification and a ballpark estimate for the whole project. Once we have done the analysis and design work we give you a completed functional specification with a fixed quote to complete the project. This allows you to see exactly what you will get and mitigate the risks of the project.

For fixes or changes to an existing database system we work on an hourly basis and provided regular reports on progress made and issues encountered. The hourly rate depends on the level of commitment- the more hours you commit to the lower the hourly rate. Please contact us us for more details.

We have done work for clients all over the world but most of our clients are based in Australia, UK and NZ. We have representatives in Australasia, Europe, Southern Asia and North America.

We guarantee our work for one month after user acceptance. If there are any problems with our work during this period we will fix it for free. We cannot guarantee 3rd party products but will assist you in getting those problems resolved.

For clients on a support contract the minimum is 15 minutes. For new clients our minimum job is 4 hours.

We normally use a mix of agile and waterfall methodologies. We use agile method (including lots of prototyping and use cases) during the design phase and then document the result in a functional specification for programming and testing.

We normally respond within 2 hours. We offer guaranteed response rates for clients on a support contract.

Yes we do - up to $5m AUD for Professional Indemnity and $20m Public and Products Liability. So far we have not ever had to call upon it because we endeavour to be professional in everything we do.
