Yes, you can. We would normally split the database into 2 – the front-end component containing the forms, code and reports and the back-end component that holds just the data. This will make the database more stable as well as allowing for easier maintenance.
This is not what Access is designed for and though we have a few clients that do this we would normally suggest moving the data to a SQL Server database in this scenario.
This depends on how complex the MS Access database is. A simple database is very quick to migrate, while complex databases can take much longer. If you want to know more, please get in touch and one of our programmers will do some analysis and give you some figures that will help you make the decision.
Access has been around for a long time but is still supported by Microsoft and if it works for you then there is a strong argument to stick with it. If, on the other hand, you want more functionality then we can help you migrate your database to SQL Server and if required put it on the cloud.
